This morning Lisanne and Mirne woke quite early. We slept in Harvey last night, parked in front of the dealership. Mirne rang Craig to see where he was, and he'd just arrived in Brisbane by train and was waiting for the car rental places to open.
We had slept very deeply, given our stressful day yesterday, but it wasn't a long sleep as we went to bed very late.
However, Craig turned up at around 8.30 am, and by then Lisanne had already packed her suitcase. We are assuming that she will not be returning to Harvey. Her flight leaves on Thursday, so we're hoping that Harvey will be repaired by then, but there's no guarantee. We don't want to hang around in Brisbane for no reason, so if there's a chance, we'll head up to the Sunshine Coast. I guess we'll hear tomorrow what Harvey's prognosis is.
So this morning, once Craig arrived with the hire car, we packed up Harvey and drove 1 km down the road to a motel. Perfectly decent place, clean and spacious, with (importantly) a nice swimming pool.
Lisanne had the best luck again -- instead of a "room" she has an "apartment". She has a suite of rooms which total approximately 50 square metres! Quite impressive! Best of all, she has a proper kitchen, so we had lunch here today, and are about to prepare dinner as well.
When we got the motel, we went for a swim immediately, and then Lisanne spent a few hours lying in the sun.
We drove into Brisbane CBD (central business district) to have a quick tour (thanks to Craig, our personal tour guide). We also walked around the botanic gardens, and along the Brisbane River (see the photo above of the amazing Banyan trees).
Tomorrow we see how Harvey is.
The weather today was a balmy 27 degrees.

Mylene Yep, still following. You're doing great.
Yvonne How unfortunate, the break down with Harvey. Hope he can be mended in a short time. So Lisanne will leave on thursday, time flies. Enjoy your last few days in Australie, Lisanne!
Mylene Ooohhhhhh how terrible. Just read about Harvey.
