An early start leaving the caravan park in the morning, but we stopped to fill up with diesel, as well as a quick stop at the shop to buy some baskets (organizing the cupboards of the RV), then another stop at the waterfront in Port Augusta.
A long drive ahead of us to Broken Hill, just across the border in New South Wales. A funny thing about Broken Hill - although it is in NSW it keeps time with SA, so we didn't have to change our clocks yet!
We stopped in Yunta for lunch, and Lisanne got to taste a meat pie for the first time. She liked it.
Lisanne saw more emus along the way, and even saw a kangaroo (a living one, and not one of the many dead ones along the road).
We arrived in Broken Hill around 4.30 pm, and set up the RV. We had arranged to meet a very friendly car rental bloke, who took us to his office, where we arranged to rent a car for 24 hours.
Back to the RV, with just enough time to enjoy a long swim in the cool pool, before we headed off in the car to the Living Desert Sculpture Park. A beautiful setting, about 12 kms from Broken Hill. We walked around the sculptures, reading their descriptions and admiring the sculptures themselves. We then stayed to watch a truly fantastic sunset.
Back into town afterwards for a fabulous dinner at the Palace Hotel. Wonderful hotel, wonderful food.
We drove 412 km today. The weather reached a maximum temperate of 38 degrees.
