A long, hot day today.
We were at the bus stop at 9.00 am, waiting to catch the bus to Dubbo Western Plains Zoo. This is quite a special zoo, as it has about 300 hectares of land available, so animals aren't just in your standard concrete enclosure.
We met some lovely people in the caravan park, and shared an electric cart which we used to navigate the 6 km route through the park.
There were animals from 5 continents, and it really was quite interesting, set in a beautiful environment.
However, we had a maximum of 33 degrees here, so it was lovely to drive around looking at the animals. After lunch, we walked the 3 km back to the caravan park (a hot walk), but we walked along the Macquarie River, which was very picturesque.
Back at the caravan park, we headed immediately for the pool.
We are off to Sydney tomorrow - through the Blue Mountains, then aiming for the Northern Beaches.
