Hello whoever is out there .... Dee scrawling!
I thought I had better put a few words into the ether too! So far the holiday has been everything and more that we were hoping for. 'We' have taken a funny route sometimes .... I say we because Trev and John have been so busy laughing, chatting and commenting on things that they turned the volume of the sat nav off and missed instructions lol Luckily I had packed the trusty WHSmith 2002 map book in case there were breaks in satellites in the welsh hills. So travelling backwards not having a clue where they had taken us and of course most the road signs in Welsh I had to navigate us back onto the right route ! It is many, many years since I have been to this part of Wales and it is so beautiful. The bluebells were still in flower and rhododendrons everywhere even on the top of the high hills / small mountains . The weather has been very mixed and John and Lis have coped well with the climate change . We had filled their wardrobe with various types of cold/ wet weather gear and most of it has been used in 3 days! Having said that they have both worn their 'thongs' ( no it really hasn't been that hot that is what they call flip- flops ! ) We had the best possible day to visit Snowdon and Caernarfon , made better by knowing that there was heavy rain down south!
The only negative so far has been a ' white van man ' who was doing what they do best and terrorising the rest of the motoring fraternity but on welsh winding roads and him cutting the corner , our poor motorhome now has black gaffatape holding it's wing mirror together :-((( Did he stop???? Of course not ..... But the site of his smashed up mirror on the road made me feel a little better ..gggrrrrr!
We are now on our way to Melksham for 2 nights . It is John's birthday tomorrow and we are going to spend it in Bath :-))) We will head for the park and ride and then weather permitting do an open top bus tour to show them the main sites of one of my favourite cities . We will then decide what to fill the rest of the day with so watch this space ;-)
