Caernarfon Wales
I forgot to mention on the last blog that although we woke up to rain we were lucky enough to have sunny warm weather for our trip to Mt Snowdon. It continued for the rest of day.
We continued on to Caernarfon through the same beautiful countryside. We arrived there at 5.30pm. Caernarfon is an old city by the ocean with an old castle. The tide was low so all the boats were leaning over.
The castle was huge with a wall that surrounded houses and shops. There was a statue of Lloyd George in the town centre.
The parking attendant directed us to the Black Boy Inn for dinner. It was in an alleyway inside the castle wall. We went inside and it was an old inn with traditional decorations. I will post photos of it. The food was the best. Dee had smoked fresh haddock 10.5/10, John had beef and ale pie 10.5/10, Trevor had lamb shank 10.5/10 (hid his carrots under the bone) and I had chicken and leek pie 10.5/10. Trevor had apple crumble and paid for it by having to taking Rennies. John ordered profiteroles to share and out of the 5 John ate 31/2 of them. So much for sharing. Add the Black Boy Inn in Caernarfon to a recommended place to eat.
It was a 30min drive back to the campsite and by time I had the bed made I was ready for sleep. 8.30pm and daylight and I'm asleep.
