OVERVIEW
Boston is passionate about sports and filled with history! We visited grave sites, stood on the ground where the Boston Massacre was... Boston is a great place to see some history, and maybe get a different perspective on some of the things you always thought to be true as a child.
WALKING TOUR www.thefreedomtrail.org
Definitely a must. We were luck enough to have an amazing tour guide. This guy was a teacher at one of the local universities. He knew his stuff. If you go to Boston, definitely take a walk on the Freedom Trail.
CHEERS www.cheersboston.com
Pretty much everyone has seen some episodes of Cheers! Its a classic! Its kindof on the same tier as Seinfeld. Check out the bar, see things you saw on TV. Its pretty neat. Not a ton to do once you are there, so plan to make a quick stop then be on your way!
FLYERS vs. BOSTON BRUINS bruins.nhl.com
Boston is super passionate about their sports, and hockey is no exception. Its refreshing to see this. Except when you are the opposing team. Maybe a little too much passion at times. This was the only place I've ever been where another female wanted to fight with me. And we were not being rowdy or even cheering. Next time, maybe we'll leave the Flyers gear at home? Eh, probably not. But, seriously though?! Maybe they should regulate the alcohol intake of some of the Bruins fans better.
NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS vs. REDSKINS www.patriots.com
Gillette Stadium! Its all blue seats! This game was fun. AND there were not as many drunks. OK, I lie. There were actually a lot of drunks. BUT they were nice not-aggressive drunks. They even took a picture for us and didn't drop the camera. Woohoo!
FINAL THOUGHTS
Lots to see in Boston, and we only saw a small part of it. We'll definitely go back!!!
