Lighthouses, the most amazing and fresh lobster.. dolphins... Maine is chilly, beautiful, somewhat secluded and just so, so relaxing.

FUNNY FACTS

It actually gets so cold there that they can't bury the deceased! They keep them locked up for months until the ground thaws, then there are only 2--3 months a year when they can get everyone back into the ground.

Tallest building is 16 stories.

All the rich people live on the island across the bay.

Everyone complained about their heating bills. Insanely high costs!

The lighthouses.. they are beautiful. Its not even close to over populated. The lobster is about as fresh as it will ever be. Don't fall into any tourist traps... make sure you go to Portland Lobster Company. Order a lobster roll withOUT lettuce. Make sure its withOUT lettuce.

FINAL THOUGHTS

We went in October and it was freezing. We're from the NE so we though, OH, October.. it will be fine! It was February-like winter weather. I didn't bring a heavy enough jacket. Save yourself the shivers, go in the summer!

Would love to go back to Maine. I've been craving a lobster roll since 2008.
