SUMMARY OF JONESBORO, AR

What to say about Jonesboro! Well, there is not much! Should you decide to visit, know that there is absolutely nothing to do and people worship sports. In a scary, I-brought-my-shotgun-if-you-ain't-from-here kind of way. I have a theory. I am 100% sure its because there is absolutely nothing else going on. What else are they going to do? Go to the mall?

HOTEL

We stayed at the Hilton in Jonesboro. Its a nice hotel. Staff is friendly! We asked the lady at the front desk what there is to do in town. She told us, "Shoooot, there ain't nothing to do in Jonesboro! We got a mall tho, its a big mall."

THE MALL

It is kindof big. Its the main and only attraction in town. Besides the sports arena. There's a Target in the mall. <3 Target! Its the south, but the game was suppose to be insanely cold.. so we decided to go shopping for warm stuff to wear. Since it was for the game, we got Arkansas State gear. So fun! Except I didn't realize the white "Arkansas" sweater I bought was not their colors... apparently WHITE was Florida's color. UGH!

FOOD

Stick with the chain restaurants! They will know that you aren't from there. It had to be the way we were dressed. We didn't wear overalls and hunting gear everywhere. If our clothes didn't give us away, then the minute we opened our mouths, it was all over! We know this because we absolutely swear that the restaurants we ate at sat us AWAY from everyone else. Like, all the locals sat in the open areas and the out-of-towners were seated next to the door or in the back of the room where there NO ONE else! So bizarre, but needless to say.. interesting experience!

THE GAME Arkansas State

They freaking LOVE their sports. And I hate to say it, but they're all nuts! 90% of the men in the stadium were wearing camouflage hunting jackets. And, the undercover security guards, guess what they were wearing to blend in? You got in! Camouflage hunting jackets. SO CRAZY! This is the first and ONLY game I've ever been to where the police were caring machine guns in the stadium. SERIOUSLY??? What planet are we on??? Oh, its Arkansas! And, they take their "Right to bear arms" VERY seriously.
