OVERVIEW Dear San Francisco, why are you so cold in the middle of May? I should have brought sweaters, pants and jackets - not short sleeves and flip flops. I got to pet a dolphin!!! They are slippery and oh-so cute. San Diego Zoo is the only one I've been to where you can do that!

LA... home to lots of famous people... Not my favorite city though, perhaps I didn't see enough of LA to give it justice, but it seemed a bit superficial and star/famous people obsessed! But .. I guess that is LA!

We stayed in Newport Beach, right in the middle of Los Angeles and San Diego. We drove down the coast line and California is an amazingly beautiful state. I now know why people say that if you leave the east coast and go to the midwest you come back, but if you go to the west coast, you don't come back!!!
