Today, we went to Steve Irwin Zoo which is an unusual experience as I saw pictures of a dead man everywhere but at the same time it is so great that his legacy and dreams is being carried on.
We got yet other train, unlike Sydney, Brisbane had a small city district and a huge neighbourhood surrounding it so we had to use trains as our main method of transport to get to the places.
The zoo was unlike to any zoos I ever visited in my life, rather predictably the emphasis were chiefly on Australian animals but few exotic animals were featured such as tigers and elephants. The second difference was there were loads of alligators because Steve Irwin started out as an alligator hunter and caught his first alligator when he was just nine.
All of animals were given plenty of space for their habit which is a relief after the debacle we witnessed in Beijing Zoo. The zoo also served as a mini museum charting Steve Irwin's life and his family. His family turned out is equally animal-mad which is a non shocker considering they lived with Steve.
We met up with Kirsty during our visit and we also fed an elephant which were awesome until the elephant I was feeding repaid his meal by drooling on my hand! We also saw zookeepers taking wombats and tigers for a walk with a leash which made Cookie looked rather tame on her walks!
We also enjoyed a crocodile display which is Steve's trademark but it didn't take place in the famous Crocoseum but in an alternative lake which I guess is because there is fewer visitors due it being a weekday and in the winter season.
Before going home, we walked through a kangaroo enclosure similar to Lone Pine and we saw a joey tucking inside a mother kangaroo's pouch with his legs sticking out between his little head!
We had a last meal with Kirsty after zoo before bidding her farewell and heading back to our hostel for another session of free internet on our phones ( We discovered one of our neighbours had a wifi hotspot that were
