Our day got off to a bad start when we were late and missed our train up to Gold Coast, we had to wait for another half hour, my day went to bad to worse when upon leaving the train, I left my camera behind so the group played a prank on me and asked me to take a picture of something which by the point I discovered my error and to their horror I leapt back into the train to look for it when all along they actually have it. I had to get off at the next stop and catch a train back to meet up rest of the gang!
I then got mugged by a six years old boy......I am just kidding my dear readers; my day didn't get worse after this. We boarded a bus into the city and my jaws dropped.
Gold Coast looked exactly like Florida, there were palm trees everywhere, the people were in their swimwear and skyscrapers which were sunkissed were also everywhere. We made our way eagerly to the famous beach and miles of golden sands greeted our eyes furnished with turquoise sea.
I could see why Gold Coast was so highly regarded and it was a perfect weekend break for any city dwellers from Brisbane. It is also known as a pilgrimage for any school kids at the end of their school year so in November/December, it will be full of drunk rowdy school kids!
We rested for a bit and had fish and chips as a part of our pact. The seagulls eagerly swooped on us and ended up stalking us for our lunch. Dominic and I amused ourselves by flicking chips at Ashley in the hope seagulls will swoop on him!
We then browsed the area, checked out the shops before it got dark so we went back to Brisbane ( I remembered the camera!) and had a takeaway for the dinner.
