Today was the day that I was set to become the fastest man on the mountain or to resemble Eddie the Eagle's hopeless performance at Winter Olympics. We got up early to catch the shuttle coach bit we forgot to move our motorhome which wasted valuable time that led us to miss the bus. Luckily for us, the bus ran on the loop around couple of resorts we were able to catch it shortly and we were off to face the mighty runs of Mt. Caradona!
It was a rather nervous winding journey up the mountain. I was glad that we took the information centre advice to not make our own way up there. Eventually we all arrived in the car park in one piece! We checked in then went off to get our gear. The snow shoes felt rather doubly and I sometimes have to wobble around in bent knees at times! Charlene and me assembled with our group for our first lesson where we learnt how to fix the ski blades to our shoes, how to get uphill walking without slipping and how to stop when skiing downhill.
We all then were promoted to a gentle slope which exposed Eddie the Eagle in me with my inability to stop correctly. I am certain that I ended couple of fledging skiing careers by injuring couple of other people by using them as my brake. You get the picture. To my further annoyance, Charlene was a natural.
Soon it was lunch so we went to meet others, Dom had an awful morning since he last skied eight years ago so he booked himself in the afternoon lesson which he then recovered his former glory leaving me as a lone Eagle. I founded myself relegated to the bottom class which to my utter delight I then found someone who is even worse than me. I realised since I am duck footed, this mean I struggle to cross my feet to brake.
It was end of the day so I met up with others but Ashley were missing so we all looked for him which includes a heart stopping moment when upon looking at picture of Ashley on my mobile, a first aid guy gave us an uneasy glance and looked to a bed of a patient being defibrillated. His face was obscured but it turned out it was not Ashley. Soon enough we found him and assembled at the coach for the journey back to our campsite.
I think skiing is not my cup of tea and I will stick to football!

Judy Asher, I hope you can appreciate why I took you, me and Elon for holidays in the sun. Why stress yourself over a ski slope when you can de-stress on a beach. "Motherlogic" plain and simple!Lol. x
