I started today with a mini milestone, I finally had a shower! I had to endure an agonizing wait for it because the cleaner wasn't finished so I had to stand there looking like a zombie drooling at the human flesh which probably freaked the cleaner out. So after the mood in the camp were extremely upbeat as we went to Cadbury chocolate factory.
We had booked a tour and there were loads of laughs as I was forced to wear a hygiene mask which covers my rapidly growing beard. At least it hides my drooling which by this stage had evolved from pining for the shower to pining for the chocolate. The tour was a disappointment, there were too much talking and though there were some information boards, we still missed out on the majority of the information. Overall, the factory were interesting, they even built a chocolate chimney that had tonnes of chocolate flowing through it at the flick of the switch. The funny thing is that they built it just for the hell of it.
Overall the factory in Birmingham was much better though the view may be biased through the rose tinted glasses I had on as a child seeing millions of chocolates swirling around me. We complained to the manager and we were rewarded with loads of free chocolates which is a decent result for us. Back on the campervan we went.
The next tourist attraction on the list was Baldwin Street which held the title as the world's steepest street. We parked our motorhome on the next road and made our way towards the top of the street. Baldwin St is actually your average neighbourhood with houses littered along the road and there were several cars parked as well but the insurance premiums for the cars must be high!
Once we reached the top, we took some pictures and larked around. We met two travellers from Sweden who were insane enough to drive their campervan up the street. Little do we know that we would bump into them regularly during our journey in NZ. The street was quite steep but we can walk upwards on it though if we lie down, we have to be careful while settling down otherwise we would tumble down the street.
After having our fill of photos, we started for Queenstown. We stopped on the route to fill up the motorhome which cost about 60 pounds, same as back in England so the English can quit moaning about the prices of the petrol! The journey involves swinging through the mountains and passing some small towns. The southern dwellers are blessed with fantastic scenery and I could see why it was no brainer for Pete Jackson who is director of Lords of Rings to decide to shoot it in NZ. We stopped in Cromwell a small town for the night under the beautiful stars.

Judy Cadbury's world was amazing even as an adult, I guess the only downside is that it is in Birmingham which clearly is not as visually appealing as New Zealand and I doubt that Lord of The Rings would have been filmed in B'ham, lol. Big up Charlene for me and thank her for driving you around safely, especially up Baldwin Street. Try and have a daily shower Ash and dont forget to moisturise!! Love and miss u. Mum. xx
