Waking up in Sydney having survived the storm, we discovered something terrible. Laura and I had not been to a market in a few days and we were reaching critical. The urge had crept upon us and we needed to find one!
Thankfully one of the largest markets in Sydney was a brief stroll from our accommodation. Paddy's Market hosts one of the largest collections of knock off gear and copywrite infringement I have ever seen. The market was also home to ALOT of touristy crap. I must say I have become a sucker for touristy rubbish so for Laura and I this was a lot of fun. The market had a large food court where we were able to acquire fresh cheese, ham and bread for lunch.
The highlight of the market for me was trying to buy some replacement zip off trousers after unfortunately shrinking mine in the wash. When asked if they had a changing room the lady of Chinese origin pointed to behind a waist high rack of clothes. Little to hide my modesty but my need for trousers outweighed my need for dignity (that had long gone). For Laura the highlight was finding a cheap mini keyboard for her tablet as the touch screen never did as it was told.
We returned to our room to enjoy our indoor picnic of cheese, ham, onion bread and dip while we waited for more rain to subside. When it eventually did we headed out for a stroll round Sydney again, it never grew old with us.
