We drove north past Lake Van again and stopped briefly at a huge waterfall that was running just by the road. We climbed into mountains again and went over another high pass, and were treated to magnificent views of Mt Ararat before we arrived in Doğubeyazıt (aka doggy biscuit), the frontier town near the Iranian border. Our campsite is a few km outside town, and I think we are expecting a couple of big nights as we can't take any alcohol into Iran with us or get it there at all. Normal toilets are a thing of the past - it's all squats now. There's a few upset tummies around already but we are all still in good spirits.
We will spend one day here getting out stuff ready for Iran before heading for the border tomorrow. So its farewell to Turkey after about 3 1/2 weeks, a beautiful and friendly country!
