Anish's Travels
Day 4,5,6,7 (14/03, 15/03, 16/03, 17/03)
Good evening
Just another quick update. Again, havent done anything very exciting yet. Just a bit of sight seeing and wondering around the place getting lost down some random streets. All good fun. We sorted out our Lao and Vietnam visas the other day and recieved them today. Again, is still very hot, and we had downpour of rain for like half an hour yesterday. Today was better tho, much cooler than it has been. Moved out of our hotel on Thursday and found a fairly cheap place to stay in Khao San Road, which is the main road in Baglamphu where all the tourists and backpackers go. Room cost 5 pounds a night which is bit expensive compared to a lot of places, but heren wanted a room with powerul air conditioning. Well thats what we got; felt like i was in a blizzard during the night. And for a quilt, they gave us a v.large towel. This evening we went to china town, to see what it was like and to get some chinese food. Well it seemed very similar to Khao San Road, except more chinese people. We were walking around looking for a good place to eat, when some guys stop us saying there were fireworks about to start. Well he carried on to say that he was a tourist and was from china. We asked him if he knew any good cheap places to eat, so he gave us the name of the place and told us that its was 10 mins away. And he told us to make sure we took a government tuk-tuk rather than a private one. Well we didnt know what the difference was so he found us one and told the driver where to go, and he managed to negotiate a price of 40baht (about 60p) to get to this place. Anyways we got there, and it was far from cheap; bill came to about 1000baht! Not Good. We could have left, but were too hungry so decided to stay. So yea, i think we got a bit conned there. Oh well, ya live and ya learn.
Tomorrow, we are off to the river side town of Kanchaburi. About a 3 hour bus ride west of Bangkok. Be good to finally be breathing some fresher air. I think i've breathed in more toxic chemicals that i have oxygen over the last week. After that, i think we are off to the North of Thailand to Chiang Mai.
I'l keep ya posted
Miss ya all
