Day 56,57,58 (5/05 - 7/05) Arrived in bangkok after a nightmare bus journey to the border. We were in a really small bus, which they totally crammed with bags and people. The first half an hour, we were driving down a road full of pot holes. so we bounced along down there, and then it got worse. The road turned into a uneven dirt road/track, with holes, and rocks sticking out everywhere. And then the last half an hour we were back on a road again. I think riding a kangaroo would have been more comfortable. Anyway, got to the broder, did all the passport stuff, and then waited on the Thailand side for our bus. The tour agency we booked the bus through said we'd be put on a bigger bus. They end up shoving us on a mini bus, and i was at the front next to the driver with someone else on the other side of me. I was on a very small seat aswell..my arse really did not enjoy that ride. Though the road was much better than the cambodianside. The journey from Siem Reap to Bangkok to 11.5 hours. Anyways after punishing myself on that bus, i decided i would get a thai masage whilst i was in Bangkok, which is what i did today. Was rather good, and i never knew my back could twist that far. Bankok is totally differnt to last time...less people, less market stalls and ...hardly any hassle from tuk-tuk drivers!! Not that im complaining, but whats happened to this place. Off the southern Thailand today, to Surat Thani and then to Khao Sok National park. Trekking through there for 3 days, then eading back to surat thani, so we can get to the island of Kho Phagnan for the full moon party on the 13th. Full moon party - a huge party/rave on beach with thousands of people. Will be meeting up with Heren again here. Have to take an 11 hour bus journey though, because the sleeper trains were full untill Tuesday, and i dont wanna be spening 4 days in Bangkok as i've seen and done it all already.
