After a brilliant week staying with my relatives, we all took a road trip together to Hervey Bay. It took 6 hours from Biloela to reach Hervey Bay, and it was a lovely drive. After dumping our bags, Malcolm showed us around and we stopped and got fish and chips, I'm sorry Oz but your fish & chips are not a patch on good old UK fish and chips. When I get home I'm going on a road trip to Whitby and heading straight to the Magpie restaurant for some delicious fish & chips, and closer to home, the Ocean Fish Bar in Cleethorpes, yum, my belly is rumberling just thinking about it. After a tearful goodbye to my aunty and uncle we were left once again to fend for ourselves. Sad times :(
We booked a day trip to fraser island and we are glad we did. The morning we were leaving the heavens decided to open, it rained all day. The mossies on Fraser Island were out in force and were hungry, I lost count on how many bites I got that day. The island was great and fasinating but the mossies ruined it, and with no bug spray to fend them off either, as we were told, there are no mossies on fraser island.
The next day we left on the bus for Mooloolaba. We would have liked to have gone to Noosa, but the accommodation was full. We left in the poring rain hoping that the bus would be there. The night before the weather was awful, the rain and wind lashed at the hostel windows and I didnt get too much sleep. We got a taxi to the bus station that morning as it was heavy and it was a fair distance away. We were both so relieved when we saw the bus waiting at the stop.
We were on our way to Mooloolaba, hopefully to escape the rain....
