Well what can I say about our time in Kaikoura. What a dissapointment. We stayed here for 3 nights as we wanted to go out whale watching. We booked a trip for the next day in the afternoon at 12.15pm. That day was glorious, the sun was shining and the sea didnt look too rough. After visiting Christchurch to sort the van out and picking up supplies, we headed off to Hamner Springs. We would stay in the area a couple of nights and try out the hot springs. When we arrived it was late afternoon, so we just settled in and did the usual washing of clothes etc. The next day we went into the town, only small, and visited the hot springs in the afternoon. We left Te Anau yesterday (Wednesday) morning at 11.30am once we filled up with more petrol, went to the bank and got supplies from the supermarket.
