We arrived in Brisbane around lunchtime after dropping Marie off at the airport. Col, Maggie and I found a backpackers which was in a really cool part of Brisbane, not far from Southbank. We then went out for a walk down to Southbank, where we bumped into Rob and Steph. We wanted to hopefully catch them before they flew back to the UK. That night we all went to the cinema to watch Life of Pi, and to the pub for a few drinks to wish Maggie, Rob and Steph a safe flight home the next day (maggie was flying back to the states). We were then left all on our own again, wandering around Brisbane which is a lovely city. Col contacted Roberta as she lives on Bribie Island and Carl and Gareth both live near Brisbane. That night Col received a call from Gareth and texts from Carl, they arranged to meet up the next day at Roberta's house for Carls birthday get together. We caught the train and Carl met us at the train station and drove us the rest of the way to Robert and Robertas house. Wow what a house they have. Super modern and very very nice, its a million miles away from Grimsby, that's for sure. We had a lovely day together and met some lovely people. That night Gareth and his wife, Maria, invited us over for dinner. We had a lovely evening meal and a good chat. We finally got back to the hostel about 11pm, a long day but fun. The next day we arranged onward travel to Surfers Paradise. Hopefully I could catch up with a work mate.
