We arrived into Surfers Paradise with sunshine. The hostel courtesy van picked us up at the coach park which was good. Our accommodation was nice, we booked a 6 bed dorm. We arrived in Brisbane around lunchtime after dropping Marie off at the airport. Col, Maggie and I found a backpackers which was in a really cool part of Brisbane, not far from Southbank. After a brilliant week staying with my relatives, we all took a road trip together to Hervey Bay. It took 6 hours from Biloela to reach Hervey Bay, and it was a lovely drive. We both had an amazing time in Biloela. It was lovely to see my Uncle Malcolm and Aunty Sue after so many years. We had a great week staying with them and they took us to so many places. We saw cockatoos en masse, wallabies, emus and bats. We visited the mines and Malcolm showed us what he use to do for many years there. We got to see some real Australia, away from the coast.
