Journey to colca canyon stopping at a few shops on the way. Evening show of traditional Peruvian music and dancing, which seems the only thing that is likely to warm us up brrrrrrrrrrr is an understatement!

Morning bus tour of Arequipa followed by the Irish bar, dinner and birthday celebrations for Philippa

Today we visited Chauchilla cemetery and pottery shop, but the highlight was definitely our flight over the Nasca lines. We flew in a small plane with Danielle and Andrew and got great views of the different Nasca lines but not sure the photos do it justice. We were all glad to have our feet firmly back on the ground as despite being amazing the flight left us feeling a bit queasy! Evening chill out before overnight bus to Arequipa

Morning boat trip to 'Islas Ballastas' withit' highlights of birds, penguins and seals. Stop off at the Pisco winery where we had great fun stomping the grapes and tasting samples before lunch and Ang went off to explore the sand dunes on the buggy. I however could not quite face the sand and opted for the swim in the pool and lake. When we arrived at the hotel we enjoyed a traditional 'Pachamama' (mother earth) meal.

Morning spent wandering around Lima's beautiful park, cathedral and watching the street performers. Bus to Paracas and Ang was particularly impressed by the fact she could watch the united match while we waited for the bus to arrive!! We joined the locals and their celebrations of 'declaration of independance' on the beach, with plenty of pisco and dancing!
