Time to explore Santiago!!! We took a free walking tour run by Spicy Chile, through the older barrios. Old churches & crumbling 18th & 19th century buildings. Most built by European architects to mimic Paris & Berlin. Sadly many of these buildings have simply been abandoned as they are too expensive to maintain whilst preserving their facade & many are used as squats.

The photo is of the Church of the Precious Blood. Built in the 18th Century. Together with La Merced they are the only red & yellow churches & both have miraculously survived the 2010 earthquake.
