Moneda Palace...cue history lesson.... Originally the Mint, it became the seat of Government in the end of 18th Century. However La Moneda is most famous because of the events of 11th September 1973. Popped my explorer's sombrero on again to walk historic Santiago & it's bohemian barrio cousins, Lastarria and Bellavista. First stop, Plaza de la Constitution & La Moneda palace. Sadly no changing of the guard as it is Saturday but at least there were some prettily dressed horses :).
