Up early, all packed & we hit the bus station at just past 8. Quick chat with information Signora & we were soon buying our semi cama seats to Cochabamba. Well impresssed, only 50 Bolivianos (5 quid) for the 8 hour journey.
No chance of getting lost or missing the bus, thank goodness, as a lady from the bus company delivered us directly to the bus! England could learn a few lessons methinks.
By half 8 we were on our way....through the arid, desolate andean countryside. The mountains seemed to go on forever.
Stop for an ice cream & a much needed pee in one of the most disgusting bathrooms I've ever experienced (& I spent 3 weeks in the filth of Cuba!). My hand sanitizer was my trusty companion.
My goodness I love love love the chocolate ice cream here, even the branded stuff. It tastes rich & properly cocoa-y without being bitter...yum!
Having started the journey freezing cold, wearing hats & gloves, we finally rolled into Cochabamba baking hot, having removed all our layers, & desperate for a shower.
A 20 minute sweaty walk later & we arrived at our Residencial Familiar which I had booked in Spanish in a phone booth 2 days before. They remembered me & our booking. Perhaps my bad Spanish makes me memorable!
