Adventures in volunteering:

Today we helped sedate two kangaroos so they could be castrated. Then lots of shoveling poop, as usual, but today it was in the wallaby enclosed that had a baby we had to put into its pouch while we cleaned. So cute. Animal babies are so much cuter than human ones. Obviously one more reason why I have pets, not children. The male kangaroos that aren't cut are super buff. It's hilarious. They look like body builders.
Feeding the kookaburras was an adventure. You throw them half of a chick while you put out the rest of the bits. I fed bilbo first and he decided to fly right over my head to get blood on my face. The second one I fed dropped the chick back onto my head... Birds hate me.
One of the other girls that was working with may have never washed dishes before in her life. There was a huge pile to wash and while I was getting through them she scrubbed each dish for 5 minutes then threw it into the dirty water do I ended up rewashing it. So frustrating.
Overall fun, tiring, dirty day.
