So glad I went on this tour! I was very bummed at the beginning of the tour because the bug bites from noosa were driving me crazy and made me look like I had the plague. People were super nice on the tour and didn't let me be the leper I felt like I was.
We traveled in this 4wd bus with Haydn, the tour guide. He took us on a couple of bush walks and to lake mackensy to swim on the first day. He gave us loads of background, a lovely picnic lunch under an awning, and he was quite good at timing everything so that the rain didn't ruin the day ( it was still raining but he left the swimming parts for the times of the day it was suppose to let up). Our accommodations were amazing. Nice beds, warm rooms, and a cute communal area for us to pure drink at. Dinner was buffet style with really nice food at the dingo bar.
Day 2 was also rainy. I hadn't slept well because of the bug bites, but coffee at the buffet breakfast got me through the day. We swam at the rock pools, hiked p to Indian head ( a nice lookout of the ocean), explored a shipwreck (ok we couldn't really go in but I still had fun taking pictures of it and pretending I could see the little mermaid), and swimming down a crystal clear creek. Hayden timed everything perfectly. We even had some sun for the swim. While cruising down the beach Hayden stopped and chased a wild dingo with his umbrella that was stalking two runners on the beach. It was adorable.
Day 3 the sun came out. It was actually quite hot most of the day, which was perfect since we mostly just swam at two different lakes. We got to play on paddle boards and let the minnows clean our skin. Very relaxing which was nice since most of us were tired from the bar the night before.
As for the bites, I found a pill that stops them from itching for 24 hours, so they are healing quite nicely since I don't scratch. Plus no new ones which is a relief sinc I was worried about stow always in my bag even though I cleaned thoroughly.
Now on my way to airlie beach which is a 12 hour bus ride. I am very excited or the Whitsunday's sailing trip. I hope the nice weather holds for at least part of it. I am finally going to snorkel in the Great Barrier Reef!!!
