Just a short entry today. We travelled from Paris to Bordeaux today which are about 600km apart. We started our journey early and plowed on until we reached Blois. Blois is a medium sized town in the Loire Valley and is home to a royal palace where King Francis I spent most of his time. The castle was very pretty but it cost €10 to enter and we didn't have time to do it justice. We then travelled along the Loire River and saw a few beautiful castles perched high on the cliffs overlooking the river. We stopped for lunch in Tours and it has a fantastic looking train station (if fact most train stations in France look fantastic). We had a simple lunch of a baguette, jambon (ham, we learnt that one quick), salami, double cream Camembert cheese, two bananas and a litre of grape juice for €9 which is quite cheap and sat on the promenade people watching. Sally then reverted to type and bought a pair of shoes and sunnies! We hopped on the bus and prepared for our next stretch to Bordeaux with a quick stop on the motorway. We are now marking time until we leave for Barcelona tomorrow, which should be good.
Talk soon
