Back to the sunshine today and a heat index of 104 degrees. We managed to fit in yesterday's plans today. We got up a little later than planned and went straight to the duck. Well as you can imagine, the last though I had was that I would wake up to something like this ( picture above.) for a place that has not rained since march, that was a heavy, heavy downpour. Our plans for the day obviously had to be altered, given the outdoor nature of the activities. The palm for this wet and rainy day was to have a quite one. Today began with early rise, around half past 7 and we headed to get something to eat. We were booked on the exclusive Level 9 Tour at the Johnson Space Centre in Houston. We got there just after 9 and got the ticket. We had a look around the visitor centre and the gift shop. The tour begun by getting on a bus and it took us to see a Saturn V rocket which was separated at each stage to let you see inside. The second stop was the Sonny Carter Training Centre. ...

Today we travelled to Galveston Texas. The drive took around 4 hours and we got here just after 2 pm. This morning we stopped at a small town place for breakfast called Lucille's Place. It was like you see in the movies, where the dine looks kinda dirty and you can smell cigarette smoke but the food is good. That is exactly what it was like. Dad said his stomach was a bit iffy afterwards but I was ok. Then we hit the road....hard. Almost straight to te hotel. ...

We got up around half 8 and phoned to get the car brought up. In San Antonio is not really a morning place, so one of the few places open is Denny's. As you can imagine, it was queued out the door. We waited about 20 mins for a table. In the end up it was really good and we were set up for the day. The original plan was to drive down to Mexico for a visit. We did not go there because it was a 3 hour round trip abs we are driving tomorrow. Instead we headed west...
