Today, we drove about 3 hrs west of Baton Rouge, Louisiana to Beaumont, Texas. It was interstate most of the journey with a stop for gas part way. We arrived in Beaumont around 2 o'clock and eventually found the hotel, after the sat-nav got confused and sent us in the wrong direction. Hello all, day 1 is over and the first full day in the USA has been restful. The day begun with a trip to Starbucks to get us going. We took some time to look around Houston and also to pick up the tickets for tonight's baseball game. Houston is a 'typical' US city with lots of industry and a noticeable amount of poverty downtown. Hello all and welcome to my travel blog for the USA Deep South tour of 2011. After traveling for what seems like three days in relative comfort on BA 'world traveler plus' class.
