Today began in Mobile, Alabama and ended 3 hours west at Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Got up at a reasonable time and headed across Alabama, Mississippi and in to Louisiana. The last day in New Orleans began as two day before, with a hearty southern breakfast. Then we headed out towards the Airboat Adventures place in Harrero for a swamp tour. If you are taking this tour then please be aware that the airboat dock is about 15 miles away from the main office so leave plenty of time to get there. The first job of the day was to head in to the French Quarter. Since the Creole Queen cruise boarded up past the aquarium, we chose a lot closer to the river walk. The first full day in New Orleans was as amazing as the few hours yesterday. Got up earlyish and headed down for breakfast in the hotel that was included in our rate. I was surprised to find a selection of southern staples such as biscuits and homestyle gravy, grits, and the usual sausage, bacon, eggs abs waffles.
