Arrived first day of the trek... Group are all ace were all either English, Scottish or Australian so there's a nice mix. In the other group there was a Swedish man who looked like a serial killer so glad he wasn't with us.
Drove down to Washington, D.C. And set up camp for the first time. Had to help mart out with the tent ha. Lay down our amazing pink kids sleeping bags. Little small for mart I must say. Was so hot and within 30 seconds the Mosquitos smelt me and attacked.
Anyway went on a bike ride around the city saw all the sites. I always imagined Washington to be quite boring but we really enjoyed it. Particularly outside the Lincoln memorial..mart didn't seem to care it was where Martin Luther king said his I have a dream speech it was all about Forrest Gump (had to say I agreed tho haha!)
Forgot to say we were equipt with hi vis vests and helmets..marts ears looked a great. I have photos!!
Yesterday we just pottered around randomly poured it down for a few hours. Had to remind mr.champagne that if he continues to drink all the money during the daytime we will become by Xmas..you can get rly cheap beer for round the camp fire. I think he should just stick to that!

Up at 5 today...packed up camp showered and now were on the road. Van has wifi so that's good. On route to Richmond Virginia then by tonight we shall be in North Carolina!
