Had a pretty sleepless night in the bunk on the sleeper train despite a few beers and a whisky. It was a little cramped but comfortable enough and they do bring you tea, coffee and a choice of breakfast sandwich in the morning (Ruth opted for the egg, me the bacon). Anyway, arrived in Penzance at 8am and began the 10 mile ride to the start line. We passed a group of cyclists leaving Lands End and were passed by a mini bus load of people pulling a trailer full of bikes... Far more organised than us...
