We managed to get up on time today, quick breakfast in the hotel, and we are our way. London here we come ! But first we are going to stop at Stonehenge on the way, seeing as its almost on the way to London.
We arrive at Stonehenge at 9.00am and find what I thought was quite a few people there already. We collected our audio tour stuff and start walking around listening to the history of Stonehenge. It's quite interesting really, to think it was considered ancient before the roman times.........but I'm getting off the subject. OMG, by the time we are half way around it the place is flooded with people ! We can see in the distance a road choked with traffic, and assume they are just rubbernecking because they can see Stonehenge from the road. When we get back to the car park it is full of buses, holy crap, that's where all the people came from!
Luckily we are going the opposite way to all the traffic and head off. Two hours later, and thank god for GPS (I wouldn't want to tackle London without it) we drop off the car and organise a taxi. Twenty minutes later, no taxi, the lovely owner of Europcar put us back in our car (we are getting excellent at packing and unpacking luggage)and drove us all the way to our apartment, saving us time and money.
We wait for the agent to meet us, they are late, and this guy asks what we are doing, and then opens up the apartment. I'm left wondering why some random guy has keys to our place !!!!
Turns out he also works for yourplacelets.com. Anyway, the apartment, what can I say, except that, we should have stayed here first so that we would be pleasantly surprised by all our other accomodation. But hey, it's semi clean, and in the centre of London. (Girls, I'm being very brave here, walking around in shoes on the first day to keep my feet clean !!!!!).
We meet Leanne and the boys for the afternoon and dinner, looking forward to spending more time with them during the week.
