First day in London we decide to get tickets for a double decker bus tour around town. We have done these in most places and they are a great way to get the lay of the land, so you can decide what to go back to another day. We decided to get off on a few stops, but it is impossible to do it all in one tour.
We drive past Marble Arch, Park Lane, Hyde Park, Madame Tussaud's (got tickets for another day) and Piccadilly. We get off at Big Ben, and walk around the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, and walk over Westminster bridge. We hop back on a bus and get off a while later in an area recommended by one of the bus operators. We found a great burger place called Byrons Hamburgers, if you are ever in London, go there.
Our next stop was St Paul's Cathedral, beautiful, bells ringing the whole time we were there. Next stop was London Bridge, we walked across it, got some great pictures.
We get back on a bus and travel back to the other side of the city, last stop is going to be Harrods. To be honest I don't feel dressed for it, and all wind swept after being up top on a open aired bus all day, but I can't miss it.
Can you believe it, we get there at 6.30 and they close at 7.00 f**k it. So..........quick look at the food, and we decide to have dinner from Harrods, takeaway. Yum. Have to come back for a good look another day.
By the time we get home, we are all exhausted, we eat dinner, and fall into bed.
