After a VERY quick home to Perth I'm now back on the road and heading north. Picking the van up in Townsville I headed a short distance north to Ingham. This is a pretty place with plenty to see. A trip up to Wallaman Falls which is the highest sheer drop of 305 meters. The mountain rage in the area is really beautiful. Right in the middle of town is Tyto Wetlands, with lovely walking tracks and board walks. If your into bird watching early morning of dusk is the best time. Another day trip was into Paluma N.P. Here we have Jourama Falls with lots of rock pools and the water is so clear. It was another day of mountain climbing in the rain forest. Today I went in the opposite direction to the beaches. Luncinda is a very pretty spot and is famous for the longest jetty 6 km. This is actually a convayor belt for bulk raw sugar. Driving through the country side this must be the sugar cane capital of Australia.
Imgham is a very Italian community and this is now more obvious than at the cemetery. Mind you they are packed in like sardines. Someone has a good busy import all that granite & marble.
