Hi, well its early Tuesday morning here like 2am so i thought i better get a quick blog in before I crash for the night as it may be a while before i see another computer.
The last three days have been awesome. They have gone so fast and we've packed alot in.
On the Friday night i was taken out by my younger cousin (only by a month) Harriet, to her favourite local pub. There are so many pubs here it isnt funny you could pick from about 3 or 4 with out going further than 5 minutes which I find pretty cool. We just had a few pints but that was enough to knock me out. I was so tired.
Saturday the rain came back and just when i was starting to believe it may actually be summer here. But that didnt bother us too much. I played a game of squash against my Uncle and to be fair i think all up he beat me but it was great to play again. That night I was taken out by my older cousin Alex and his friend again to a local pub in a little village called Willy. I think that this may have been a slightly more upper class pub judging by the the fact that people were eating nice food some of which we had and they were also drinking wine. I'm slowly learning about the pub culture here and the night scene. From what Ive seen I really like it. After the meal we played a few games of pool and nibbled away on stolen chocolate.
On Sunday we went for a massively huge long walk. Na it wasnt that bad about 12km I think is what it worked out to be maybe a little more well anyway it was amazing. By far the best day walk I have done here. The colours of the English country side and the sounds of Birds not traffic for a change were just stunning. (check the photo's). That night we had an English BBQ not quite the same but still very tasty and I'll give it to them English sausages are very nice indeed.
Monday I slept in till 11:30. One of the many joys of travelling. Hannah my eldest cousin on my mums side took me out for the day or what was left of it to a place called Foxton Locks. Here we had some lunch by the canal and saw how this huge systems of Locks made it possible for Barges to move up and down a slope very hard to explain but take a look at the photos.
On Monday night we had dinner out again starting to feel very spoilt by now. We then went on to see a movie called "This Is England" which was excellent. I would recommend it to everyone if you can get your hands on it. Apparently its very hard to get a viewing of this over here because it's been so popular and not many places are showing it. The film itself deals mainly with racism in England in the 80's very provocative and well worth seeing.
