Well we are actually playing cath up here so the date isnt correct we were actually there from the 20th to the 22nd of may.
Cardiff was our first journey away from england although it is only a 3 hours drive from London. We got there on the Sunday evening and made our way to the hostel which we had booked over the net. The hostel was pretty decent considering the price 15pounds roughly $40 per person per night. It was only 10mins walk form the center of town and even closer to the coach and train station. Being a Sunday night the city was dead. It was also really dirty with rubbish all over the place so first impressoins weren't good.
The next day was the first day that it didnt rain and there was actually sun. We took a look round the city centre in the morning which was much more lively being a monday morning. We got our lunch from the centeral markets and ate it sitting by the river in the park. We then went on to the Cardiff castle which the city itself was built around. Once inside the grounds though you couldn't be further away from all the traffic and heavyset welshman.
The following day we went down to Cardiff Bay which is still a bit tacky but tons of developement was happening and it is a nice change from the busy city centre. Loads of bars and cafes and a few old buildings makes it a nice place just to chill. In the afternoon we were passing by the New Cardiff Theatre and thought it worth while asking what was on that night. They were very helpful and we managed to snap up two student standby tickets for Chicago the Musical (bloody brilliant) we got the tickets for 5pounds $12 usually 28pounds.
On wednesday morning we were off to London...
