Melbourne - October
Wednesday 1st October - Friday 31st October
On Friday 3rd October Corinne had her friends round from work and Wolfie baked them some cakes before leaving them too it and went of to a concert of 'Morning of the Earth' a famous aussie surf movie form the hippy 60's, was really cool with funny hippy smells in the air wicked music and the original movie playing on the background. Corinne spent the evening chatting, drinking and showing friend's pictures from our travels and the wedding. Nest day on Saturday we bought a table top BBQ and some prawns and got down to some BBQ and beers and wine and all the other stuff that goes with it, we watched the huge flying fox bats flying round in the night sky screeching away.
Second BBQ with new BBQ was rudely interrupted by spider which meant we were soon back inside. Sunday 12th march Wolfie had a 5.30am start as he was doing the Melbourne half marathon!!! Starting near the MCG a quick cab ride later and he was there dropped his bag off and headed for the start line. Finishing the race after 21.1km, 2 toilet stops and rescuing 2 ladies from a flying wheelie bin in 2hrs and 20mins not bad for a first time. It finished in the MCG and after picking up a t-shirt and goody bags headed back to Corinne for around lunch time. Spent the rest of the day relaxing and resting getting more stiff as the day went on, nice afternoon so we spent it in the park reading and writing post cards.
The following weekend we spent some time further more exploring chapel street near to the flat, we saw Suzanne Kennedy in boarders and got a book on the spiders of Australia. On Sunday 19th October Wolfie took part in an inter hospital football (soccer) tournament. We played the group games in 1/2 pitches with 7 aside and went to full pitch for the final 11 a side. Wolfie (playing upfront) scored a goal in each of the morning group games very Fernando Torres style especially the first one, they then put lunch on for us before the third group game. The quarter Wolfie sat most of it out after getting booted in the shin in the last group game played in the semi before scoring the third goal of the final which we won 3-0, it was a ghost in-between the defenders with a diving header which everyone says was the goal of the tournament!!!!!! Royal children's hospital winners 2008 (pictures hopefully to come soon).
The final Saturday (25th) of the month was movie's night, having ate enough magnums to get the free upgrade to GOLD CLASS with full electronic recliner chairs we went to 'how to loose friends and alienate people' the new Simon Pegg flick. Was good and the seat were veryyyyyyyyy comfortable with full waiter service. The following day we met Sian early at the bus station following her flight in from New Zealand, we had breakfast out at the Prahan markets and then St Kilda for the afternoon craft markets.
During the week Wolfie and Corinne went to watch Xavier Rudd in a gig in town and we had a BBQ for Halloween which the bats flying round made it feel really cool.
