Melbourne - January
Sunday 4th – Saturday 10th January
We spent the day getting to know our new house mates from Wrexham and Chester Pete and Catherine. The Sunday was spent unpacking and cleaning Richard’s room which would be our room for the next 7 months or so. We done some shopping and stocked up the cupboards with food before having some dinner and finishing the cleaning and getting ready for work the next day.
The rest of the week was pretty uneventful except for Friday when we got free comedy club tickets from Wolfie’s work and it was great so funny and we even got the aussie joke slang because we’d lived there for a while. Wolfie had to then work his first weekend for in nearly 11months and Corinne went to the beach for the afternoon.
Sunday 11th – Saturday 16th January
Really nothing this week except for work and work, saving lots of pennies for our trip back to the UK to see how everyone is getting on. To see how big the little ones have gotten and what’s new with all our friends.
Sunday 17th – Saturday 24th January
We spent the Sunday at the beach because the weather was gorgeous and we were a little naughty as we got burnt in the sun. On the Monday we had our first day well Wolfie went with Pete to see the Australian open, it was amazing only $29 for a days ground pass to all the outside courts got to watch some great games including a 5 hour epic blokes game on court 11 of which we watched 3 hours of that, the best part was a night time flood lite game watching David Nalbandian at 9.30 at night. Wolfie got a big tennis ball and got it signed by loads of players including Thomas Berdych, Vera Zvonerva, and a few others. The atmosphere was great although the day was really hot I don’t know how the players managed it as we got tired just watching it!
Corinne went with Wolfie on Tuesday 20th we watched some more games and Corinne got a bag full off free hair products for loreal garnier tent. Some of the players we seen were Patty Scynder, Flavia Pennetta, Svetlana Kuzetvenova, James Blake and Ana Ivanovic. The temperature maxed when we were watching Richard Gasquet at 39’C and you could really see the players struggling the tournaments great because it tests the players on a different level player games in the heat and trying to recover for there next game.
The rest of the week was spent in work grafting and working away.
Sunday 25th – Saturday 31st January
Week of the heat-wave!!! Monday 39’C Tuesday 40’ Wednesday 43.7’C Thursday 40’C Friday 35’C. WAS such a hot one and difficult to sleep for Wolfie on nights and Corinne to work during the day. A little cooler on Thursday evening Wolfie had organised a surprise for Corinne in the form of tickets for the outdoor cinema in St Kilda to watch DIRTY DANCING Corinne was so excited and out of the 250+ people watching about 5 were blokes. All the girls screaming when Patrick Swayze came on the screen or smashed the window of the car. It was nice to watch a movie under the stars was great.
