Melbourne August 2009
So back to Melbourne and back to work but not for much longer the count down has begun to our leaving date of November 27th when where off on a mammoth 10’000km road trip. So the first weekend in August (Friday 7th) found us at the cinema watching public enemies the new Johnny Depp film which was awesome, followed by outlet shopping on the Saturday at the DFO in Essendon (kind of like Cheshire oaks). Wolfie got a pair of quicksilver jeans for $32!!!!!
That evening Corinne’s friend Clare arrived from the UK for a short visit after a little time of the flat we went to Brunswick and the Little Creatures beer hall which was well cool. We met one of Wolfie’s work friends Kathe and her fella Charlie before later being joined by Paul.
An action packed Sunday 9th August followed starting at the city craft market at the arts centre, before taking a ferry across to Williamstown for a little look and some fish and chips. It was then up to the 88th floor of the Eureka sky deck for dusk views of Melbourne which was absolutely amazing, whilst we where up there all the lights started to come on as darkness set in. Last stop off the day was St Kilda pier to see the penguins and they didn’t disappoint there were loads of the little birds!
Clare stayed till Wednesday with Corinne taking the Tuesday off to spend some time with her, they went out and about around the city and up to the gaol. The weekend after Clare had gone Wolfie bought the Wii home from work and we had such a laugh messing about playing games and getting drunk with Jenny and Liam.
The rest of August was fairly quite as we are saving hard at the minute for pennies and cents for the 4 months planned off work later in the year and early 2010. England did however reclaim the ashes winning 2-1 got to give a little stick out in work lol! We spent a day out and about around Melbourne close to the end of the month shopping on Chapel Street, a Meal in the city followed by a ticket collecting spree at Glactic circus (the huge arcade under the casino). Wolfie ran the Defence lake attack race 5k again knocking 4 minutes of the previous time before finishing the month with a trip to the footy at the ‘G’ to watch St Kilda v Melbourne in the AFL with Corinne and Sally who were very hungover following a night out with Jenny.
