Morning, morning, morning ... having done some research in the early hours (through lack of sleep), we're working on today's to-do list. Essentially, we're awaiting the outcome of whether the local Tromso Outdoor shop has a tripod for hire so that we can (a) practice camera settings to avoid any unnecessary fumbling in freezing temperatures and (b) consider the advice of Northern Lights hunter Kjetil Skogli and professional guide from Joanna Lumley's BBC1 "The Land of the Northern Lights" programme: (i) EQUIPMENT: full frame camera with bright wide-angle lens, Canon D5 with aperture 1.6 and tripod, (ii) ISO: 200 – 800 Blender: 1,6, (iii) APERTURE: Between 5 and 10 seconds, (iv) FOCUS: Manual focus set to infinity and (v) EXTRA TIP: Moonlight over the landscape makes photos even more interesting. WHY??? We're kinda hoping on 'the' shot that looks a little something like this one (taken by AuroraChaser Kjetil Skogli).
