The next day we drove to Port Douglas. We drove up to the lookout that looked over the beach. Then we went to a Rip Curl shop and had a look around. We went to the beach and had a swim which was great because we haven't been able to swim at Wonga Beach. Then we walked across the road to a nice café where we had lunch. Lachie and I got a Nutella and marshmelow toasted sandwich and a bowl of fries. It was delicious!
The next day we went for a drive to a river where we had an early lunch and then went to Mossman gorge. We caught a bus up and went for a swim. There were lots of people there and the rapids were flowing hard. We swam for a while and then Dad Jack and I went for a walk up stream over all the rocks while Mum took Lachie to the toile and there was just a lot more rapids and not much else. After that we sun baked for a while. When Mum got back she told us that she had seen Jacob Ellis there! Then we went for a short walk to a cool suspention brige. After that we went home and watched the bathurst race, boo Mcloughlin! The next day we left lovely Wonga beach, it was sad and headed towards Cairns.
On the way to Cairns all you could see was beautiful mountains and paddocks of sugarcane, and every town seemed to have a sugar mill . We arrived in Cairns in a huge and expensive caravan park. It had a kid's strip of fun games and activities such as, two pools, a big park, two jumping pillows, a splash park and a gaming room. Also at night there was movies on a big screen. After lunch we went and played in the pool that had two really fun slides, it was a lot of fun. That afternoon we went in to the middle of Cairns where we went for a walk along the waterfront and got to play at a few parks and a fake beach. My favourite was the rock climbing area. After that we went to a pub called Rattle and Hum and had drink then we went back to the van. Lachie and I went and set up for the movie then we came back and had tea half way through it. The next day we drove to Kuranda, a village in the rainforest above Cairns and went to the daily markets. We didn't get anything because it was all touristy stuff but on the way home we went to the shops and I got JT's biography to read. That afternoon we played at the pool and jumping pillow, then Lachie and I set up for the movie. I went back to the van half way through the movie and had tea but Lachie had it at the movie. That night we got to Facetime the Smiths because it was Charlie's birthday. It was great to see them all.
