Today we drove to Lorella springs. On the way there we stopped at the southern lost city. The southern lost city is a rock formation that makes the tall rocks look like a city of tall buildings. It is 1500 million years old.
Lorella springs is a huge station, it has lots of hot and cold springs and water holes. When we arrived at Lorella springs we got went and set up and then we back over to reception and saw an emu, male and female peacocks, a bird, chooks and roosters, 2 poddy calves, a turkey and my favourite, baby emus! They were sooooooooo cute. Then we went for a drive to the hot springs. When we got to the hot spring we dipped our feet in the water it was very hot, it was 50 degrees! Then we went to another spring but it was not as hot and we didn't swim. Then we went back to camp and went to the warm spring near the homestead, it was the same heat as Mataranka.
If you stayed still for long enough the little fish would bite us on any sores we had from mozzie bites and scratches. Then we went to the bar for happy hour and a man brought out a bird, a rainbow lorikeet, and it jumped on to mums shoulder and tried bite mum's swimmers. Then we went back to the van and had tea. After tea we listened to the 'Maze Runner' around the campfire and then went to bed.
The next day we went down to the spring near the homestead again and went canoeing up stream where we saw heaps of huge orb spiders. Then we went to Nannies Retreat, a cool water swimming hole 40 kms from camp. It was beautiful how the rocks formed. We went for a swim and dad flew the drone. At the end of the spring we found a huge cave that you could walk through and led into a tunnel. It was fun exploring. We were the only people there, then a couple came and Dad and I talked to them for ages. Then we went back and had a swim in the spring and listened to the story around the fire again before tea and then had a delicious roast chook for tea.
