Saying for the day: Common sense is a flower that doesn't grow in everyone's garden.

What a surprise to wake up to SNOW! A really nice present for this morning for us on the day we leave Denali NP. The road out of the park (30 miles)is totally covered as well. There will be no viewing of the "Grand Dame" today. Rain starts when we get out of the Park and the temperature climbs a bit. It was a little scary driving out but we still delighted in seeing lots of Ptarmigan and Snowshoe Hares hopping around the sides of the road.

We see a black bear off the side of the road , though a little too far out for a picture.

The ride the rest of the way to Talkeetna is beautiful and sunny and 46 degrees.

We set up at the Campground and then head in town to eat at The Roadhouse, where friends we'd met told us we HAVE to have the Reindeer Chili. We were all set to order and a server told our server that the chili was gone for the day. Bummer!!
