Today we took a boat trip to four islands surrounding Nha Trang. The wind was blowing, so this made for quite a choppy crossing (you would have loved it Colin). The four islands were called Mun, Mot, Tranh & Mieu. Our 2 guides were quite funny, apparently we were to call them Lady Boy & Monkey Boy. 1st stop was Mieu Island where we visited an aquarium with many different fish (surprisingly). We saw Nemo's, Terence the Turtles & some big b*****s that looked like they could swallow you whole when you weren't looking. I just hope Seaworld is a bit more exciting ;-). We then sailed to Mun Island, which in truth was just a giant pontoon alongside the actual island. Here we had the chance to do a bit of swimming or snorkelling. It was cold enough on the boat so there was no chance that I was getting into the water. There was very little sun, so the nutters that braved Davy Jones' locker said you couldn't see much, so no loss there. A quick sail to Mot Island for lunch revealed that this in fact was another pontoon alongside the island, so we were starting to feel a bit ripped off. The seats of the boat folded down into a table & the crew bought out enough food to feed a small African nation. This was clearly too much for one Japense lass, who promptly vomited over the side of the boat. After a surprisingly tasty lunch & being told that it was too choppy for anyone to use the jetskis, we set sail to the last 'island' & enroute were entertained by the crew's 'X-Factor' session, playing some local Vietnamese music & massacaring some quality western music as well. To be fair, the guitarist only had 3 strings to work with & the drummer looked like he had taken the pan set out of the boat's galley. Monkey Boy then asked each passenger which country they were from & sang a song from that country with the passenger's assistance. Needless to say my rendition of 'Hey Jude' won't be entering the top 40 anytime soon. After the 'Rock Band' session we arrived at Tranh Island & to our shock horror, it was actually an island so we eagerly hopped off the boat, to be greeted by a sign explaining that we had to pay to get on the island!!!! Tempted by the first bit of sun that we had seen all day, we paid up & had a relax in what sun we could get, before heading back to the harbour & ending our trip....Thank God!! The evening we headed back to our beloved 'Why Not?' bar for some dinner, pool & drinks before boarding another overnight train to take us to Hoi An. Upon arriving at our train cabins, we discovered some people already asleep in our cabins. Apparently this happens a lot, but it was relatively easier to evict our squatters....the same couldn't be said for the cockroaches that were running over the walls!!!
