We awoke this morning with no food poisoning...score!! Unfortunately we did have a 3 hour bus drive to Hue to look forward to. I didn't know much about Hue before arriving, but I can now tell you that it rains.....a lot!!!! After lunch, we decided that a 4 hour motorbike tour of Hue would be better than a boat trip that would take 6 hours. I think we were put off after Nha Trang's shambles! After purchasing some rather fetching ponchos that made us look like Smurfs, we got on our bikes. Our visits included a Pagoda, an ancient elephant & tiger fighting arena (not as exciting as it sounds & even more disappointing the fact that there were no actual elephants or tigers....boooo), a market where we saw them making incense sticks, a citadel & tomb of a ancient King & finally a small village that gave us some tea (by this point we were so cold, wet & muddy we were extremely grateful, even if we did have to pay). After changing our clothes, drying off & warming up, we headed for dinner at DMZ, followed by a group game of Killer on the pool table. We were joined by an extremely camp waiter for our game & I won a couple of them, so can that count as me beating a Vietnamese at pool?? Please??
