Welcome to Puerto Escondido!!!!! We got off the plane and immediately shed our jackets. Beautifully balmy weather in Puerto. We took a quick taxi to our hotel. The hotel wasn't the most wonderful place and they tried to charge us more for our room than we agreed to online. No Bueno. We talked them back down to what we were originally supposed to pay and grabbed some breakfast at the local cafe, Cafe Cito. We headed to the beach in Carrizillo, which turned out to be the best snorkeling in the area. We rented paddle boards and Malikai patiently paddled Narci around so he could hop off and snorkel. We saw several clownfish and blue dory like fish, and the boys saw a giant sea turtle.
We hopped a taxi over to Zicatela, the famous Mexican pipeline beach. It is beautiful! The water was clear crystal blue, darker than the Carribean, and definitely powerful waves crashing along the shoreline. Carrizillo was more relaxing, a family beach, while Zicatela had more of a party atmosphere.
