Early monring train to the holy city of Pushkar on possible the most uncomfortable seats ever! We then switched to the smallest seats ever on a mini bus. Its very hilly here and secluded. The hotel is lovely at the bottom of a mountain. Raj told us to watch out for locals that hand you a flower in the city. Its only a flower head, but if you accept it from them, you are agreeing to perform a religeous ceremony, which 12,000 people attend and costs you a mere $300! So we walked around with our hands firmly in our pockets. Here is also Brahma's temple, which is the 'creator', and according to Hindu, he dropped a lotus flower in the holy lake and Pushkar was formed as a result. We ate at the same restaurnat both nights, but this was for a very special reason. On the first night it was Chris' Birthday, but because we were in the holiest city in India, alcohol was strictly prohibited and illegal. Luckily, the guys who own the restaurant were good friends with Raj, and served us beer in large tea pots which we ordered by the secret word, 'fizzy'. We drank a lot of 'fizzy'! They also set up a little cinema system so we could watch the latest Bollywood films. It rained so much while we were here, which was a shame as we couldnt do the early morning climb to the temple at the top of the hill. Mind, after a few pots of 'tea', this was most welcomed.
