We headed inland from Franz Josef to a small lakeside town called Wanaka. On the way we stopped at another mirror lake called lake Matheson it was really beautiful, but having seen so many lakes its hard not to get complacent about it. We're a bit laked out at the mo - and waterfalled out! The journey also took us to the imposing mountain ranges of the Mt Aspiring national park and we got our first glimpse of Mt Cook, which was pretty cool. We only stayed overnight in Wanaka so didn't see a lot. Had a spot of luxury and stayed in a hotel here tho and spent the evening playing pool in a bar overlooking the lake - not bad!
